We had a terrific evening of wine appreciation under the expert tuition of Ted Bacon. Ted took us through samples of 8 lovely wines, any of which would go very well with a Christmas meal. For two of them, we had to taste them ‘blind’ and try to recognise things like their provenance or their cost. The winners got a bottle of wine. No surprise when that well-known Epicurean Michael Foster scored 100%.
There was a raffle (included 6 bottles generously provided by Naked Wines), a wine auction and a buffet supper laid on by Lynn. Even after the wines we tasted were paid for, the evening raised £1145 for the Schools’ Sanitation Project- an amazing total, and twice what our previous wine-tasting events have raised. A huge thank you Ted Bacon, to Lynn and her helpers, and to Faith Rew and the Governors at St Leonards C EP Academy for hosting the evening.
