Ark Alexandra Academy hosted the link again for our annual Big Quiz Night. Dave Hooper was the genial quizmaster who kept things moving pretty briskly. The raffle alone raised over £600 (Thank you, Elsa and Leila!); and Michael Foster auctioned a fantastic Kiley’s Karpet voucher and a smart picnic basket, like a professional, raising £240. In all, the evening raised £2000 – remarkable generosity from all the quizzers who support us year after year. But it wasn’t just the money – there was a lovely atmosphere, and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
It was good to see a new team at the top of the scoreboard – modestly calling themselves ‘Stumped’- though you’ll see from the scores that it was a close-run thing. We Won’t Be Druv won the very difficult Picture Round with a score of 23/25. Our thanks to Dave H, to the Ark Alexandra team to set everything up, to everyone who donated a raffle prize, and to the many helpers who made sure the whole evening ran smoothly.
