With the support of LOAF Project, HSLFL aims to “put the heart back into Hastings” by building a community resource centre which will combine admin, banking and post-office facilities, an IT training area, and space for groups to meet. Derek Tomblin has again drawn up plans, and it looks as though we’ll need £100k altogether. We applied for, and received, a grant of £30k from the British High Commission (funded by the UK Government). LOAF has now taken on a new project for 2008, so that HSLFL is now quite rightly responsible for raising its own funds. HSLFL has a huge task ahead of it and will need all the support it can get from the community.
